    As someone who has thoroughly enjoyed purelyBlack's more verdant botanical visions like Garden Shadow, I was incredibly curious to see how they would handle a more 'glittering celebrity' rose.

    Capitale de Roses did not disappoint. While Garden Shadow feels like a rain-drenched sanctuary, Capitale de Roses offers a completely different, sophisticated impact.

    The opening is vibrant and spirited, with a beautiful spiciness from the pink pepper that immediately makes an impression. It manages to be unmistakably rose, yet feels remarkably bright and airy, avoiding any of the heavy, suffocating woodiness I've encountered in traditional mass-market fragrances.

    The dry-down into an elegant, earthy patchouli base is refined and quiet, providing a grounded finish that transitions perfectly from a day in the office to an evening out.

    If you're looking for a signature scent that is both artistic and gender-neutral, this is a masterpiece. It captures a timeless elegance while remaining fresh and modern.
